Complex layouts and diagonal patterns may need more.
Enter the measurements and press Calculate.

How the flooring calculation works

The room area is length × width. The calculator adds your selected waste allowance, divides by pack coverage and rounds up to a whole pack.

How much waste should I allow?

Around 5–10% is common for straightforward layouts. Rooms with many corners, irregular edges or diagonal laying patterns can require more.

Measure alcoves and adjoining areas separately where necessary. Always follow the flooring manufacturer's installation and expansion-gap guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Does this include underlay?

No. Underlay is normally sold by area and should be calculated separately using the room area and the product coverage.

Should I round packs up?

Yes. Packaged flooring is generally purchased in whole packs, so the calculator always rounds up.
